Hi. I’m Kathy Purdy. If you feeling overwhelmed or stuck and you don’t know how to make things better, I want you to know there is hope. I invite you to take a deep breath and reach out for help. You don’t have to face your challenges alone.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is warm, sensitive, compassionate and interested in meeting you where you are and helping you build the life you want to be living.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University in 1996. I also studied for over 10 years with the Ridhwan School’s Diamond Approach in California, which offers a deep dive into mindfulness, emotions, and the relationship of the entire human psyche — ego, personality, and soul.
In 2015, I was Foundationally Trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and worked for 5 years running the IOP program at the DBT Center of Orange County while becoming a seasoned DBT clinician and skills coach. I also have extensive training and experience with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). In my private practice, I am continually inspired by the way DBT and EMDR empower my clients to transform their lives.
In addition to my therapy practice, I have been married to my loving husband since 1996 and we have 2 adult daughters who have taught me more than almost anything I learned in school. I enjoy cooking, gardening, hiking, yoga, movies, learning new things, and hanging out with family and friends.
I am looking forward to meeting you.
